wow seriously, is this a Chinese novel ? it certainly doesnt feel that way ! the quality is much better ! it is impressive, while you have the MC, the power ups, the epic scale that chinese novels have, it is much more slow paced but also much less repetitive, better written, better build up... so far I didnt feel like there was any "fillers" (except book 2 wich was a little dragging on warfare), useless arcs or repetitive MC getting humiliated and then smack back up few chapters after because he wow seriously, is this a Chinese novel ? it certainly doesnt feel that way ! the quality is much better ! it is impressive, while you have the MC, the power ups, the epic scale that chinese novels have, it is much more slow paced but also much less repetitive, better written, better build up... so far I didnt feel like there was any "fillers" (except book 2 wich was a little dragging on warfare), useless arcs or repetitive MC getting humiliated and then smack back up few chapters after because he became too strong....... ok ok, it does kind of happen and it is satisfying.... but it feels like there are more real motives or reason, like it would be in a epic fantasy western book, almost game of throneish style kind of plot. Why do I talk about game of thones : like in game of thrones you kind of follow multiple people. the MC takes 90% of the screen and most of the other people you follow are 100% related to MC arc/character.. but it does happen, wich is quite fun and rare in this genre... 1 more thing, the MC builds himself, but also his friends and power/kingdom wich is also a fun thing to follow... it s as fun to see his followers developping than himself if not better at time ! it doesnt feel like the story forgets much of those side characters. they do have moment of glory and are not there only for show. the baD: - 1# BOOK 2 drags on warfare... 2# SLOW PACE (beware it is not without events, but comparing to some chinese novel where the character gets from a random orphan to a god of gods - this one is more subtle, the MC takes longer to developpe etc)... 3# the story is sometime strange to follow. 4# like other chinese novel, some things dont make much sense or at least arent clear : strenght system is complex, hard to follow, , laws, bloodlines and even the math sometime is questionable but who cares.... its cool and they are badass... dont try to understand everything especially in a chinese novel its fairly violent, more dark and well thought. sometime there is this harem/s*x that you have in most chinese novel but I find it less ridiculous and less determinent in the story wich I like.. its more like on the side. anyway, its impressive and I m impressed... its a great read !! worth it ! now I think because of the pace it might be annoying to follow dayly and is probably better to be read by good chunks... HOPE to read more chapters soon ! :) ...more

The author is clearly putting a ton of effort into world building which makes this novel interesting. However, as a book in the tragedy genre where this protagonist lacks agency this book really isn't what I want to read. Other reviews mention that he becomes more assertive, but tragedy is a main theme until the very end.
If you don't mind these themes I hear it's a 4-5 star novel.
